"Joseph Bonaparte at Point Breeze" - Lecture
This is the third in a series of four lectures examining Joseph Bonaparte at Point Breeze in Bordentown.
Laura Poll, Archivist of the Trentoniana Collection, Trenton Free Public Library
At Point Breeze, Joseph Bonaparte maintained the largest and finest collection of European fine art in America during the 1820s and 1830s. The Stokes family who occupied the Trent House acquired six paintings from the famous auction of 1847. This lecture will examine the curious story of how the six paintings found their ultimate and final destination – the Trenton Free Public Library.
